Strong, David Chance - of Eastpointe, formerly of Montrose, age 25, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017, after a long battle with substance abuse. A Celebration of Chance’s life will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM. A celebratory potluck will be held immediately following the service at the Montrose Pub from 12 - 3 PM. Please feel free to dress casually and bring any photos and memories to share. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for an educational trust fund for Chance’s son, Carter Strong. Checks should be made payable to Debra Strong.
Chance was born January 3, 1992, in Spokane, Washington, to David and Debra (Wirta) Strong. When he was younger, Chance was an avid skateboarder and played many sports. He loved music, shoes and was a huge history buff. Chance was very intelligent, witty, and had a awesome, dry sense of humor. He was charismatic and always had many friends.
Surviving are: Son, Carter; Mother, Deb Strong and stepfather, Todd Ignace; Sister, Hailee; Brother, Crystian; Nephew, Julius; Grandparents: Ray (Elaine) Wirta and Norva Blumenfeld; Many aunts, uncles, cousins and special family friend, Margo Miller. Chance was preceded in death by his father, Dave Strong, Paternal grandfather, Richard Strong, and beloved partner, Katie Lethbridge.
