Vincent Matthew Paul Cornell
Age 65 of Owosso, formerly of Davison, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Davison. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes in Owosso. A Rosary will be prayed at 9:30am at the church on Thursday, and the family will receive friends from 10:00am until the time of service.
?Vincent was born on September 16, 1950 to Bruce and Clara (Morrison) Cornell in Flint. He graduated from Davison High School with the Class of 1968. Vincent worked for General Motors in Flint for 30 years.
Throughout his life, Vincent loved the Lord. He was known for telling stories, loved fishing, and was a big football fan, especially of Joe Paterno, and Detroit Lions fan. He also enjoyed Gene Wilder movies.
Vincent is survived by his children, Kimberly Cornell Bowen of Owosso, Charlotte Cornell of Corunna, Vincent Cornell of Naples, Florida, David Cornell of Burton, and Steven (Christine) Cornell of Linden; his grandchildren, Brooke Bowen, Trenton Cornell, Larry Cornell, Tiffany Cornell, Laura Cornell, Jonathon Cornell, Traeton Cornell, Trinity Cornell, Trina Cornell, Trevon Cornell, Nicholas Welch, Kyara Cornell and Christian Cornell; his siblings Robert (Mary) Cornell of New Lothrop, Edith Gorbett of Tawas, Cecelia Cornell of Harrison, Dennis (Iris) Cornell of Otterlake, and Charles Cornell of Colorado; the mothers of his children, Jeannie Cornell Merrill, Jackie Haralson, and Juliann Cornell; as well as many special nieces and nephews who loved all his stories.
Vince is predeceased by his parents; his siblings, Timothy, Sharon, Patrick, Michael, and David Cornell, and Theresa Cornell-Martindale; and his brother-in-law, James Gorbett.
The family would like extend their gratitude and thanks to the staff of Welcome Home Assisted Living in Elsie for always going above and beyond in their care of Vincent. |
