HENNESSY, William “Boo” – of Burton, MI, formerly of Daytona Beach, FL, age 83, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service, with Military Honors, will be held 12 PM Friday, January 20, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. The family will receive visitors 10 AM-12 PM Friday, January 20, 2017 at the funeral home. Private inurnment at Great Lakes National Cemetery will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
Bill was born in Flint, MI on June 2, 1933, son of the late William Curtis and Leona (Kruse) Hennessy, Sr. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951-1954. Bill attended Flint Central High School. He was a resident of Daytona Beach, FL for 30 years where he owned Captain Bill’s Bar, Captain Bill’s Real Estate and Captain Bill’s Car Lot. Bill enjoyed fishing, coffee and donuts with his friends and loved sitting on the front porch and waving to passersby. He was a member and past Commander of the Burton, MI VFW Post #2777. Bill was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #3 Burton, MI.
Mr. Hennessy is survived by his daughter, Trudy (Mike) Shields; 2 grandchildren, Zachary (Amber) Ousnamer and Heather (Steve) Zintzmaster; 1 great-grandson, Cade Zintzmaster; 1 sister, Virginia (Norm) Sullivan; 2 brothers, Leonard and Tom (Mary Kay) Hennessy; loving canine companion, Louie; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Hennessy and companion, Judy.
