WESTERMAN, Richard L. – of Clio, age 87, died Monday, June 1, 2015 at Cranberry Park in Clio with his family at his side. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Elders Tom Banks and Cindy Dewar officiating. Military honors to follow the services. Cremation to follow with final inurnment in Roseland Memorial Park at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-8 PM and on Thursday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM. Contributions may be made to Community of Christ Church, Wounded Warriors or the American Cancer Society.
Richard was born November 3, 1927 in Caruthersville, MO to the late Walter and Nell (Reeves) Westerman. He served in the US Navy from 1944-1953. He resided in Clio the past 19 years. Richard married Darlene Rogers on April 14, 1996. Mr. Westerman retired from Wilson Welding in Madison Hts. in 1989 with over 30 years seniority. He was a member of the Community of Christ, American Legion Post #64 and the Teamsters. He enjoyed hunting and bowling.
Surviving are: wife, Darlene; daughter, Robin Westerman of Macomb; step-son, Rex Rogers of Fenton. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Westerman in 1988. Please sign our guest book, or share an online condolence with the family at www.oguinnfh.com.
