WINER, Hellen L. – Of Flint, age 94, died Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Regency of Grand Blanc.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Steve Wood
officiating.
Entombment at Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee county.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Hellen was born in Johnson County, Indiana on April 18, 1924, the daughter of the late Lewis and Mabel (nee Duhamell) Crook.
She frequented Mel’s Diner, where she was known as Momma.
Mrs. Winer worked at Knights Inn Motel for 20 years and then at Holiday Inn Gateway Center.
Surviving are children, Marilynn (Nick) Nicholson,
Marcia (Arthur) Philp and Donald (Melanie) Winer;
grandchildren, Tammy Bernat, Ronald (Julie) Wieler, Tina Pepper, Kelli (Tim) Bailey, Jaime (Ted) Rogers, Daniel (Jessica Lindauer) Korn, Alex and Spencer Philp and Sydney Wallace;
great-grandchildren, Christina, Zachary, John David, Taylor, Nolan Hayden, Brady and Kenzie;
sister, Emmaline Vebert;
many nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by her beloved Cocker Spaniel, Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie “Dutch”, in 2009; step-daughter, Rose Wieler and great-granddaughter, Angel Barbara.
