CESSNA, Marie Elizabeth – Of Flint, age 58, died peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at her residence.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2020 at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Visitation 11 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2020 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Marie was born in Flint, Michigan on May 31, 1962, the daughter of Nelson and Mary (Mudry) Saunders.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for many years and most recently of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
She was very involved with AA in the community.
Marie enjoyed bird watching, gardening, fishing and flowers. She also liked crafts, making things out of nothing.
She loved her dogs, Ole and Itsol.
Above all else she loved her family.
Surviving are daughter, Karri Lynn;
life partner, Stephen;
sisters, Beth Saunders and Mary Van Hamlin;
brother, Gregory (Linda) Saunders;
Karri’s father, Jeff and
special friend, Denise.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary; brothers, Ronald and Phillip.
