DEWITT, Marvin – of Flushing, age 87, passed away December 8, 2016 at McLaren – Flint. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Monday, December 12, 2016 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Gary L. Beck officiating. Burial will be in Davison Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM – 1 PM Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, Humane Society of Genesee County or the American Heart Association.
Marvin was born in Flint, MI on October 6, 1929, son of the late Harold and Lois (Edmonds) DeWitt. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Marvin’s career in education began in teaching and he went on to receive a PhD in Education Administration from Michigan State University. In later years, he taught economics and business at Baker College.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Norma Jean DeWitt; daughter, Diane (Donald) DeWitt Zienert; granddaughters, Dawn (Michael) Bary, Dana (Derek) Kind, Darra Zienert; great grandchildren, Mila and Maeve Bary, Everett Kind; brother, Keith (Jane) DeWitt; nephews; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Dena Zienert; brother, Eugene DeWitt.
