NOFS, Loretta J. – of Flint, age 88, passed away January 20, 2019. Cremation has taken place.
She was born in St. Clair, MI to Stanley and Mary Anna Rzonca, the youngest of 5 children. Loretta married Gordon Nofs in Columbus, MI and shared 66 happy years. Together they built a home and raised their family of 5 children; Paul S. (Elizabeth) Nofs, Cynthia (John) Valenti, Sally Nofs DVM, Steven (Dawn) Nofs, and Mariellen Peto.
They later welcomed 9 grandchildren; Eric (Traci), Clair (Ryan), Charles, Leo, Dean, Dalton, Lindsay, Travis, and Sarah; and 3 great-grandchildren; Joshua, Alexander, and Sebastian.
Loretta was a farm girl with an adventurous spirit. She was a sweet, thoughtful person with a quick sense of humor who enjoyed crochet, puzzles, current events / weather and geography. Above all, Loretta was a kind and loving wife and mother who took wonderful care of her family.
Loretta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gordon and their son, Paul; brothers, John, Peter (Claire), Walter (Virginia); sister, Stella (James).
She is survived by brother-in-law, Joseph (Dolly); longtime friend and sister-in-law, Justine; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
To honor Loretta: Hold someone's hand! Take care of your loved ones! Enjoy some chocolate, pizza, or a good bowl of soup!
