Constance Lee Lakies, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. She was born on June 11, 1934 in Chambers, Nebraska to parents Marvin and Ethel Gibson. She was a lifelong Michigan resident, graduated from Flint Central High School in 1953 and raised her family in Holly. Constance enjoyed antiquing, raising her cats, decorating, crocheting and taking care of her houseplants. Most of all, she enjoyed caring for her family and her home. She was a loving mother to her children, who survive her: Kellie (Luke) Deming, Kimberly (James) Beckman, Kara (Scott Metcalf) Lakies. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Dr. Jamie (Trevor) Arnold, Bryan Lussier, Lily Deming, Chyna Deming, Dr. Leah (Ryan) Bruder, Olivia Beckman, Christina Beckman, Grace Beckman, Tiffany Sclesky, Chelsey (Jacob) David; six great grandchildren: Caleb Arnold, Kellen Arnold, Avery Arnold, Clara Bruder, Keiton Bell, Tucker David; sister-in-law, Morag Gibson; nieces and nephews: Jeff Neville, Jill (David) Jackson, Valerie Gibson, Ruth (Todd) Bessinger. She was preceded in death by both parents; step-father, Ronald Craig; siblings: Dennis Gibson and Gloria Neville. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Huron County Medical Care Facility for their compassion and continuous care. A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI. The family will receive visitors on Friday, one half hour prior to the service, beginning at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. |
