KUSKY, Albert J. “Al” - of Clio, age 93, died Thursday, October 12, 2017, at McLaren - Flint. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Military Honors will be conducted under the direction of VFW Post #1452. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 2PM until 8PM and Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Al was born July 9, 1924 in Flint, Michigan to the late Walter and Margaret (Thomas) Kusky. He attended Flint Northern High School. Al married Irene Toma in Flint in 1947. She preceded him in death in 2009. Al served in WWII from 1943 until 1945. He was attached to the 3554th Ordinance Company and eventually earned the rank of Tec 5. Al owned and operated Kusky House Moving in Clio for 40 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Clio VFW Post #1452. Al enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his family. Overall, Al was a genuine outdoorsman.
Surviving are: Children: Don Kusky, Ken (Cathy) Kusky, Richard Kusky, Karl (Carol) Kusky, and Leonard Kusky; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren, and 2 sister in laws, Helen Prince and Glenna Kusky. Al was also preceded in death by his sons: David and John Kusky; Brother, Edward Kusky, and sisters: Helen Haas, Virginia James, and Dorothy Langdon.
