ELMER, Mark H.- Of Fenton, age 57, died Thursday, October 12, 2017.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2017
at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 2051 West Maple Avenue, Flint, Pastor Paul Boerger officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Those desiring may make contributions to the family to set up a trust for his grandchildren.
Visitation 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mark will be at the church from 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service.
Mark was born in Flint, Michigan on November 20, 1959, the son of Lloyd and Mary “Betty” (Long) Elmer.
He was a member of Lamb of God Lutheran Church.
He loved boating, motorcycling, golfing and was a member of the Sheriff’s Golf League. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Mark was a retired Corrections Officer and also did body work for many years.
Surviving are wife, Laurie;
children, Nicole (Brandon) Dinser and Brett Elmer;
mother, Mary "Betty";
father-in-law, Robert Anderson;
brother, Lloyd (Norma);
grandchildren, Isis, Isaac and Colt;
step-grandchildren, Andrew and Logan;
brother-in-law, Michael (Elyn) Anderson; sister-in-law, Kim (Tom) Curran;
two nieces and one nephew, Deidre, Megan and Robby;
many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd.
