Mary Mildred (Christoph) Yancho, born May 28, 1926 in Pontiac Michigan to Delphina Victoria (Roell) Christoph and Louis J. Christoph. She died peacefully May 22, 2020, in Grand Blanc Michigan. Due to the pandemic, personal contact with individuals will be limited adhering to Michigan’s standards. A virtual Rosary service will be held on June 4th, 2020 at 6pm at Hill Funeral Home. Visitation to be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 from 9:30 – 11:30am at St. Mark’s Catholic Church – 7296 Gale Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan. A private Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Goodrich, Michigan with interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. On February 3, 1951, Mary married the love of her life, George Yancho. Together they built a life full of love and happiness that endured for over 66 years! After graduating from Central High School in Flint Michigan class of 1944, Mary spent some time working at Flint Iron and Wire Works and Chevrolet Motor Company before marriage. After marriage Mary fully enjoyed being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her passion was being a seamstress. She made many clothes for her family and others including bridesmaids, Baptismal, and First Communion dresses. She made certain that each family had a Christmas tree skirt custom made by her. Mary also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, especially during the holidays. She also canned and froze much of the family’s fruit and vegetables from the garden. Mary worked nonstop from early morning till late in the evening, even into her 90’s! She was always involved with Catholic Church activities including Altar Society, Red Hat Society, Card Clubs and many others. Mary is survived by her four children, Michael A. Yancho Sr (Libby), Dennis A. Yancho (Mari), George A. Yancho (Elaine) and Lynn Lusty (Jim); ten grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George; siblings, Hazel Allen and Raymond Christoph. Per the family’s request, please do not send flowers! If you wish, please make a donation to Holy Family Church in Grand Blanc (you can ask to have a mass said in Mary's name), or to the church of your choice.
