Went home to be with his Lord Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at his home; age 88 years. Max was born on September 14, 1935 in St. Francis, AR to the late Elmer and Thelda Sharp. He graduated from Ferris State University with his bachelor’s in accounting. Later he honorably served in the U.S Army. He was married to Jean Taylor on February 24, 1962 at the Berean Baptist Church where they served for over fifty years; she survives him.
Max was a business accountant and was involved in modular homes, owning and operating Saturn Homes. He attended Frankenmuth Bible Church, enjoyed fishing, and went on several fishing trips to Canada. He also enjoyed cross country skiing with his wife Jean and hiking in his younger years.
Surviving besides his wife Jean are daughters Darla (Brian) Bussinger of Vassar, MI and Michele (Bob) Powell of Belleville, MI; son Eric (Barb) Sharp of Windsor, ON; thirteen grandchildren: Joshua (Ashleigh) Bussinger, Rachael (Tim) Kiehne, Matthew (Amy) Powell, Hannah King, Jonathan Powell, Nathan (Mia) Powell, Grace Powell, Michael (Charity) Sharp, Caleb Sharp, Thomas Levesque, Etienne (Christina) Levesque, Veronique (Will) Levesque, and Moise Levesque; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother Kenneth (Gale) Sharp of Flushing, MI; and many nieces and nephews.
Max was preceded in death by twin sister Maxine Petty; brothers Bobbie and Leon Sharp; and sisters Evelyn Koshaba and Nadine Piggott.
Funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at the Frankenmuth Bible Church, 210 S. Main St., Frankenmuth, Michigan. Rev. Joseph Berkobien will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date at Great Lake’s National Cemetery. Max’s family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
