MASON, Ida M. - Of Longboat Key, Florida, formerly of Flint, age 91, died Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Tidewell Hospice House in Bradenton, Florida.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Paul Ytterock officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice House or Sunny Bower Assisted Living in Bradenton, Florida.
Visitation 1-4pm and 6-8pm Friday at the funeral home.
Ida was born in Murray, Kentucky on April 17, 1926, the daughter of Jasper Hart and Bessie Spencer. She met Carl E. Mason at election time as a precinct worker and on November 6, 1954 they were married at First Presbyterian Church in Flint. Ida attended Baker Business College and worked for Marvel Carburetor in Flint. For many years she worked alongside Carl at Fidelity Abstract and Title Company. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Ida enjoyed shelling at the beach on the Gulf Coast of Florida and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are daughter, Karla;
daughter-in-law, Nancy;
granddaughter, Dawn;
grandson, James II;
5 great-grandchildren;
many nieces and nephews; special great niece, Sarah Hart;
and special friends, Tim and Lisa Burgess and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, son, James, parents, and brother and sister-in-law, Halford and Beverly Hart.
