John D. Loper, 88, of Millington, Michigan, formerly of Flint, MI, passed away on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019. John was the son of John B. Loper and Harriett Blagg. He married Janet Ragatz on March 21, 1950. John served on the Flint Fire Department for 27 years and retired as the Fire Marshall. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the great outdoors, and vacationing in Aruba with family and friends. His family was the center of his life. He is survived by his children, David (Gretchen) Loper, Catherine (Michael) Matusik, Christine (Christopher) Cousineau, Caren (Ken) Thorp, and John (Pam) Loper, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his wife, Janet. Family will receive friends on Monday, November 4, 2019, at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 Hill Rd., Grand Blanc Twp., Michigan, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral will be Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Brown Funeral Home at 1:00pm with interment following at Evergreen, Cemetery in Grand Blanc, Michigan. |
