HUNT, Nelda Lorraine. – of Clio, age 80, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Friday, July 24, 2015 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Ted Stephens officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-8PM and Friday from 11AM until the time or service at 1PM. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or North End Baptist Church.
Nelda was born July 11, 1935 in Clare, Michigan to the late John and Winifred (King) Sherman. She married Jack Hunt December 2, 1953. He preceded her in death November 9, 1994. Nelda was a Candy Striper at McLaren Hospital for several years. She was a devoted member of North End Baptist Church and was involved in many church functions and the women’s group. Nelda was past board member and treasurer for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). She enjoyed needle point, computer games, audio books, and playing cards with the ladies.
Surviving are: Daughter, Lori (Neil) Kelly of Clio; Son, Scott Hunt of Clio; Granddaughter, Ashley Smith; Sister, Lois (Mel) Tinnin; Several nieces and nephews; Furry companion, Patty the cat; Nelda was preceded in death by her Brother, James Sherman; Sister in law, Sharon Sherman.
