DOTSON, Howard W. – Of Burton, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 19, 2016.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend John H. Grantham officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.
Visitation 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Howard was born in Landisburg, West Virginia on November 28, 1933.
He was retired from General Motors (Ternstedt Plant), where he worked for 35 years.
He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
He loved his Lord and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon.
Howard was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was proud to be called Dad and Grandpa.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Doris Yvonne Dotson;
daughters, Vickie Fish and Rhonda Dietrich (Karl);
son, Brian (Charlotte);
four grandchildren, Emily, Kyle, Chelsea and Chandler; along with sister, Louella Dotson of West Virginia.
Howard was preceded in death by both parents; one brother and two sisters.
