Marji was born in Flint, MI on January 11, 1956, daughter of Arliss (Clute) and the late William Black. A proud graduate of Clio High School, Class of 1974, Marji's lifelong passion for learning led her to Central Michigan University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in 1978. Her vibrant career spanned several fields, from the fashion industry to teaching at Baker College, where she touched the lives of many students with her warmth, wisdom, and dedication. On June 18, 1986, in Flint, MI, Marji Black married the love of her life, Doug Theodoroff, in a ceremony that marked the beginning of a beautiful and enduring partnership. Together, they shared a home filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect. Marji’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was an active and devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she found solace and strength in her spiritual community. Outside of her professional and spiritual life, Marji was passionate about gardening. As a certified Master Gardener, she took great pride in her meticulously tended flower beds, often spending hours in her garden, cultivating beauty and finding peace in nature’s simple joys. Her love for flowers was a reflection of her own nurturing spirit—one that was always eager to share with those around her. Her kindness, gentle nature, and ability to make everyone feel special will be missed by all who knew her.
