LANG, Glenda Sue – Of Swartz Creek, age 85, died Friday, April 27, 2018 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Visitation 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Glenda was born in Cardwell, Missouri on October 23, 1932, the daughter of the late Vernon and Avis (Tucker) Ray.
She graduated from Flint Central High School in 1950, graduated from Flint Junior College in 1952, graduated from University of Michigan in 1954 and received her Master’s Degree from Eastern Michigan University.
She married Richard Lewis Lang on March 18, 1955 and had been married for 57 happy years until his death on October 18, 2012.
Glenda and Richard were great Michigan football fans. They loved each other and their life together.
She loved working out in the yard, swimming, History, reading and watching classic movies.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and teacher.
Mrs. Lang taught in the Flint School System for many years.
Surviving are four sons, Rick and wife Donna,
Karl and wife Christine,
Kenneth and wife Lucy,
Stephen and wife Stephanie;
8 grandchildren, Lauren, Lindsey, Kyle, Rachel, Emily, David, Nathaniel (Alaura) and Samantha;
great-grandson, Manny;
many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lang.
