LEWELLYN, Linda P. – of Clio, age 71, died Friday, September 30, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Family friend Morrie Fikes officiating. Cremation to follow. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1-4 and 6-9PM and on Wednesday from 10AM until time of services at 11AM. Contributions may be made to the Clio Center for the Arts, 3370 W. Vienna Rd., Clio, MI 48420.
Linda was born June 18, 1945 in Norfolk, VA to the late Harold and Robbie Lou (Long) Powell. She married John Lewellyn on May 9, 1974 in Elizabeth City, NC. They resided in Montrose for over 30 years moving to Clio for the past 7 years. Linda was employed as a Registered Nurse for many years. She was active in Girl Scouts and Boys Scouts and had been camp nurse at Camp Tapico. She served as secretary of the Montrose Lions Club and was a member of the Flint Institute of Arts. She enjoyed working with pottery and encouraged children how to work with pottery.
Surviving are: Husband, John; Daughter, Melissa (Randy) Withey of Flint; Son, John (Kimberly) Lewellyn of Burton; Grandchildren: Sloan Withey, Chase Withey, and Kelsey Lewellyn; Brother, William (Patty) Powell of Daytona Beach, FL; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
