ELDER, Wesley L. – of Clio, age 84, died Friday, May 24, 2019 at his residence. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1PM Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 11AM until the time of service at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Wes was born July 21, 1934 in Malden, Missouri to the late Everett and Nona (Larmore) Elder. He married Ida Mae Brown on November 12, 1955. She preceded him in death June 8, 2016. Mr. Elder retired from Chevrolet in 1982 with 30 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local # 659. He was a hard worker and skilled woodworker. Wes enjoyed gardening and loved his apple orchard; he was known for having the best tasting apple cider. Above all, Wes loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are: Sons: Dennis Elder, and Tim (Nancy) Elder; Grandchildren: Jason (Tricia), Jenny (Chad), Joshua (Kelli), Tiffany (Todd), and Becky (Chris); Great grandchildren: Jesse, Justin, Hailee, McKenzie, Grayson, Aiden, and Addy; Sister, Mary Jane Garrison.
