Josephine (Jo) Rose of Flint, MI, age 93, passed away July 11, 2015 at Reverance Hospice. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place 2-8 p.m., Thursday, July 16, at Allen Funeral Home in Davison, with a Rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 17 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 404 N. Dayton Street, Davison. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Rev. Father A. Czajkowski celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Church of Flint or St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Jo was born in Nottawa Township, MI on June 23, 1922, daughter of the late Joseph and Eva (Fitzgerald) Smith. She grew up with her nine siblings in the Beal City area. She later married George Cuthbert and together they had a family of nine children. Jo was one of the original "Rosie the Riveter" women. She will be remembered as the best mother ever and loved by all who met her. Jo had done a life time of volunteer work such as homeroom mother for all of her children, Cub Scout leader for several years, numerous volunteer work for church projects, the Alter Society and a member of St. Mary's Quilters for over 20 years. She always gave a lending hand to anyone. She loved to cook for others and always enjoyed life to its fullest. She was loved by anyone who met her and always touched their life in some way.

Jo leaves many loved ones to cherish her memory. Children, Bonnie (Bob) Thornton, George H. Cuthbert, Joyce Daly, Kay (Dan) Walker, David Cuthbert, son-in-law Dale Beers, daughter-in-law Jeannie O'Boyle, special friend Cindy Burk, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, brother Bernie (Joann) Smith, sister-in-law Jean Smith, many nieces, nephews and friends. Jo was greeted on her journey by four of her nine children, Bobby, Ricki, Shirley and Jed, her parents, brothers, sisters and many other loved ones. She will be dearly missed by all. A special thank you to Dr. Amy Daros and team, staff at Hurley CCU Unit and Reverance Hospice.
