HOOKER, Arthur Walter -- Age 89, of Swartz Creek, died July 14, 2019. Funeral services will be held 12PM Thursday July 18 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, our temporary location at Hill Creek Church, 5363 Hill Rd., Swartz Creek. Burial at Crestwood Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 10AM until time of service Thursday at Hill Creek Church. Those desiring may make contributions to Lapeer County Medical Care Facility Auxiliary.
Arthur was born November 26, 1929 in Risco, MO., the son of Clyde and Maudie Hooker. As a young child he worked long hours on the farm. He then moved to Michigan and worked for Chevrolet Manufacturing for 45 years before he retired. Since then he worked hard caring for his wife, Louise, and his family.
Arthur married Louise Isabelle Elder on October 9, 1953 and were happily married for 65 years. Together they had four children, and a life filled with laughter and love. Louise passed away July 1, 2019 leaving her husband behind. Shortly after Arthur decided it was his time to go and be with Louise once again. Their love will now remain eternal.
He is survived by his children, Linda ( Donnie) Wangler of Swartz Creek, Shirley (Rick Hess) Gutierrez of Fostoria, Rhonda (Steve) Woodring of Davison, Steve (Tammy) Hooker of Columbiaville; sister Jennie; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; siblings and granddaughter, Stacey Venner.
