BINELLI, Leone “Leo” – of Clio, age 86, died Thursday, July 24, 2014 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM Monday, July 28, 2014 at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Rev. Fr. Robert McGraw officiating. Burial to follow In Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Sunday from 12 Noon to 9PM where a Parish Vigil service will be held at 7PM. He will lie in state at the church on Monday from 9:30AM until time of Mass at 10:30AM. Contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Life Center, 3115 Lawndale Ave., Flint, MI 48504.
Leo was born December 5, 1927 in Carrisolo, Italy to the late Vittorino and Lucia (Ambrosi) Binelli and came to the USA in 1948. He lived in Clio over 65 years. He served in the US Army from 1950 to 1952. He married Nicole Sweron on February 12, 1955 and they had 3 children. He was the owner of Leo’s Saw Shop from 1941 to 1995. Leo was a member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church.
Surviving are: wife, Nicole; children, Mark (Connie) Binelli of Clio, Diane Binelli (friend Dave) of Clio; grandchildren, Mark (Chanynn) Binelli of AZ, Erica (Jacob) Jimenez of WA, Johnny (Liz) Burnett of Montrose, Eric (Cara) Binelli of Clio, Jeffrey (Melissa) Ostrander of Gaines, Michelle Fagan of Flushing; grandson-in-law, Brian Hetzer of Flint; great grandchildren, Max Binelli, Mercedes Binelli, Dylan, Nique, Tristen, Jacob, Leah and Riley; sister-in-law, Suzanne (Phil) Floria of Clio; nieces , nephews and many friends. He was also preceded in death by: son, Mike; granddaughter, Nicole Hetzer; brother, Ezio Binelli; and a sister-in-law, Andree (Guillaume) Binelli. The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Heartland Hospice especially Amber, Carrie, Chaplain Steve, Joan and Emily for their love and care.
