FORESTER, Jack E. – of Birch Run, age 91, died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Mid Michigan Medical Center in Alma. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. He will be scattered at sea by the US Navy.
Jack was born September 30, 1921 in Seattle, Washington. He married Nancy Ann (LeFeuvre)
Forester on September 17, 1948, they shared many happy memories together. Jack was most proud of his service in the U.S. Navy as a 2nd class Torpedoman from 1940 till 1945. He served on destroyers USS Bell 587 and the USS Stansbury in WWII. Jack did Shore Service in Hawaii and Midway also helped with salvage work after the tragic event at Pearl Harbor. Jack enjoyed being a Ham radio operator WA8ACV, building model airplanes, golf, bowling, archery, and loved his pets, especially his favorite cat, Sabrina.
Surviving are: wife, Nancy Ann; children, Kenneth Jones, Mark Forester, Dawn Ricker, Yvonne Forester, Brian (Louise) Forester, Glennora Muehlenbeck; grandchildren, Carolyn, Justin, Celeste and Kathleen; 4 great grandchildren.
