Oliver Clevinger, Jr, age 78, of Metamora, died Tuesday, September 1, 2020.
Oliver was born in Big Rock, Virginia to Oliver and Judie (Viers) Clevinger. He graduated from Grundy High School in Grundy, Virginia. Oliver married Donna Marie “Donnie” Matney on October 8, 1962 in Looney’s Creek, Virginia. Oliver went on to work for General Motors in Pontiac - he retired in 2006 after 40 years of service to the company. After his dear Donnie passed in 2003, Oliver was blessed to marry Terry Skelton on May 20, 2007 in Davison, Michigan. In his free time Oliver always enjoyed camping.
Mr. Clevinger is survived by his wife, Terry Clevinger; children: Oliver W. (Judy) Clevinger of Flint, Tamatha (Randy) Pringle of Columbiaville and Dwayne A. Clevinger of Metamora; one grandson, Brandon Lee Waugh; step-son, Wesley (Stephanie) Gronda of Chelsea, Alabama and three step-grandchildren. He is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Marie Clevinger; his sister, Gertrude; his brother, Henry and his aforementioned parents.
Visitation will be held from 9:30AM-11:00AM Friday, September 4, 2020 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. A private funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Friday followed immediately by graveside committal prayers at Metamora Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral costs.
