BYCE, Karla Ann – of Montrose, died at McLaren Regional Medical Center on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the age of 61. Funeral Services will be held at 1PM Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Lamb of God Fellowship, 214 N. Saginaw St. in Montrose. Family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 1PM until 8PM. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Lamb of God Fellowship in Montrose.
Karla was born on November 21, 1955 to the late Karl and Joanna (Kohn) Swords. Karla was a graduate of New Lothrop High school in 1973. She obtained an associate’s degree from Baker College and eventually earned a bachelor’s degree from Delta College. She was employed at McLaren Regional Medical Center for many years, in 2012 she transferred to McLaren Cancer Institute and worked as a patient account coordinator. In her spare time she enjoyed supporting her grandkids with their sporting events. Karla also liked to go camping, garden and take relaxing drives through the countryside. Karla was a member of the Lamb of God Fellowship in Montrose and contributed annual donations to The Joseph Prince Ministries charity and the Family Life Radio charity.
Karla is survived by: 2 Children, Andrew (Tina) Byce, Stephanie (Keith) Ogg; 5 Grandchildren: Nathan, Kaytlin, Alyson, Emily and Anthony; Mother, Joanna Swords; 3 Siblings: Karl (Jeanette) Swords, Gail (Mitch) Trembley, Terri (Ed) Edenburn.
