THAYER, Lowell E. “Bud” – of Flint, age 84, passed away April 16, 2013 in New Port Richey, Florida. A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Pastor Jeff Englehart officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday and 1-2 PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Charity of one’s choice.
Bud was born in Mayville, MI on November 4, 1928, son of the late Clarence and Doris (Sugden) Thayer. He married Dorothy Hayes in 1947. Bud was a member of the Davison and Lapeer Country Club. He was an avid golfer and loved fishing, but his biggest passion was hunting with his brothers, son and grandkids in the Western U.P. Bud loved life and he lived it to the fullest. He was the Proprietor of the Midland-Circle Bowl.
Bud is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Dorann Schott of Midland, Corey Thayer of Flint and Kim Johnson of Midland; grandchildren, Kevin, Jason and Brian Thayer, Nathaniel Breznau and Christopher Johnson; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Hazen Thayer of Burton and William “Red” Thayer of Mayville. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis and sister, Lola Marttalock.
