LEARY, Nelson “Bill” William – of Flint, age 82, passed away August 13, 2018 at Genesys Health Park. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Dan Rhanor officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Wednesday and 12-1 PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
Bill was born in Miners Bay, Haliburton, Ontario, Canada on June 26, 1936, son of the late Nelson and Vena (Kilbourne) Leary. He married Carole Ganier on June 18, 1960 and she preceded him in death in 2002. Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954-1959. He worked for over 40 years at Flint Truck and Bus. Bill enjoyed camping, holidays and spending time with his family. He especially loved his grandkids.
Bill is survived by his children, Patrick (Carol) Leary, Ann (Mark) VanCura; grandchildren, Christopher (Tess Campbell) Leary, Nicole VanCura, Noah VanCura; sister, Marie (Richard) Lacina. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark E. Leary; siblings, Harold M. Inman, Ralph Weible, Jr., Betty Linton and Shirley Russell.
