FRENCH, MICHAEL - Loving husband of Diana French, father, grandfather, brother and friend, unexpectedly passed away Friday, July 3, 2020 at the age of 63, leaving his family devastated.
Private service will be held with burial at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
A native of Flint, Michigan, Michael was born on September 3, 1956, to Bond and Pearl French. He attended Flint Southwestern High School and graduated in the year of 1974. Shortly after this accomplishment, he began working at General Motors and continued working there for 40 years of his life.
He was a strong UAW supporter, and prided himself in being a union man. Michael married his loving wife and best friend, Diana Ramey in 1981; and they remained together for 42 years before his passing.
He became a father to Jeromy, Nathan, Melissa, Jennifer and Joshua, all of whom he loved dearly.
Michael always made it a point to live his life to the fullest. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, as he was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing shuffleboard, pool, darts and basketball in his free time. He was an umpire for softball in the 1980’s and 90’s, a part of a bowling league, and one of the biggest fans of his children, who enjoyed playing sports such as hockey and softball.
He was also a season ticket holder for his favorite college football team, the University of Michigan, and enjoyed frequently going to football games with his beloved wife, friends and family.
In addition to his love for sports, he frequently enjoyed reading a good book and watching his favorite action movies and television series. Aside from his hobbies, however, he found his greatest happiness in spending time with his family in any way he could, whether it be by taking a week-long camping trip or vacation to Florida, enjoying a relaxing day on the lake, cooking enough food to share with the whole neighborhood, or playing a card game while he listened to his favorite blues and classic rock tunes. Michael was always surrounded by family; he was blessed to see his children and grandchildren almost every day, as they either lived together or in close quarters.
He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren in a way no one could ever describe. He had a great love for people, and in addition to his family, he is survived by many close friends, whom he also spent much of his time with.
Michael will be fondly remembered by his loving wife, Diana French;
his children, Jeromy Pintacura, Nathan Pintacura, Melissa French, Jennifer French and Joshua (Sarah Wezell) French;
his siblings, Mark French, Denise Myers and Freda (Jay) Kennedy;
his grandchildren, Rachel, Hannah, Jayson, Jacob, Morgan, Shelbi, Emma, Sophie, Landen, Ava and Ella.
He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl French; his father, Bond French; his brother, Greg French and his sister, Tammy French.
No one who knew and loved Michael can forget his infectious laugh and ability to have a great time, his love for his family and friends, and his kind and genuine heart. He judged no one, made everyone feel welcome, and took care of anyone who needed help, without question.
Michael’s absence is one that is felt immensely, as he was and is so loved. He will be greatly missed.
