HAYNES, Lynn R. “Sam” – Of Burton, age 79, died Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Reverend Annie Duncan officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 4-8 PM Friday and 11 AM until the service Saturday, at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Davison.
Lynn was born in Burton, Michigan on April 29, 1937, the son of Harmon and Alvena (Winter) Haynes and was a resident of Burton all his life. On April 18, 1959, he married Carol A. Hughes.
He enjoyed classic cars, hunting, golfing, fishing trips to Canada, camping with family and many social events with family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and loved sharing jokes and stories. Mr. Haynes retired from AC spark Plug Division, General Motors in 1993, after 37 years of service.
Surviving are wife, Carol (Hughes) Haynes;
daughters, LeAnne M. Haynes Jackson and Holly L. Haynes (Steven) Green;
son, John D. Haynes;
LeAnne’s children, Garrett M. (Kelly) Jackson and Candace R. Jackson (David) Brandreth;
Holly’s daughter, Kassandra L. Kinnamon (Stephen) Dawson;
John’s children, Blase A. Haynes, Kaleigh A. Haynes, Jaelynn A. Haynes and Gage J. Haynes;
four great-grandchildren, Parker G. Jackson, Grace K. Jackson, Jorja A. Brandreth and Zoey M. Brandreth.
He will be missed by his many special nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvena (Winter) and Harmon E. Haynes; brother, Dallas E.; sisters, Loraine L. (Haynes) Nielson, Darlene A. (Haynes)Hamilton and niece, Terese A. Hamilton.
