ROGERS, Ruth – Of Grand Blanc Township, age 85, died Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012 Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Genesys Hospice Care Center.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 12 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Ruth was born in Missouri on January 3, 1927, the daughter of the late Virgil and Edith Gist and was a resident of the Flint area since 1946.
She married Arthur “Pete” Rogers on February 20, 1945 in Paragould, Arkansas.
Surviving are two children, Jerry Rogers of Flushing,
Sandra and husband Lloyd Richards of Swartz Creek;
5 grandchildren;
6 great-grandchildren;
sister, Ruby and husband Clent Dingler of Grand Blanc;
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Arthur on January 29, 2002; one sister, Reba Valentine; three brothers, Johnnie, Jerome and L.V. Gist.
