DIXON-GRUEBNER, Evelyn Mae – Of Flint, age 92, died Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Heritage Manor Nursing Care Center.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor John James officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the family.
Visitation 12-8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Evelyn was born in Herrin, Illinois on February 16, 1922, the daughter of Hugh W. and Lorene I. (Triplett) McNelly and was a resident of Flint.
Evelyn graduated from Flint Central High School.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, dancing, bowling, golfing and loved a good party.
Evelyn retired from Carman-Ainsworth Schools after 20 plus years of service.
Surviving are children, Doug and wife Shirley Dixon of Fenton,
Gary and wife Denise Dixon of Lapeer,
Greg and wife Colleen Dixon of Flushing,
Julia and husband Fred Messner of Gilbert, AZ;
11 grandchildren;
9 great-grandchildren;
2 great-great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete.
