COX, Robert Lee – of Burton, age 64, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 11 AM Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Fr. Carl Simon officiating. Burial, with Military Honors will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Friday and on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Robert was born in Bay City, MI on August 13, 1949, son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Lamont) Cox. He married Mary J. Gerding on November 23, 1983 in Grand Blanc. Robert worked for GM Truck and Bus for 36 years, retiring in 2008. He loved to ride his Harley and drive his Camaro.
Robert is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Melinda Childs and Brian Cox; grandchildren, MacKenzie, Hunter, Macey, Michael and Jasmine; sisters, Colleen (Gus) Harris and Carolyn (Bob) Wisniewski. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Cox.
