ADKINS, Hazel G. - Of Swartz Creek, age 89, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Grand Blanc Rehab & Nursing Center.
Funeral service will be held 3pm Thursday, December 5, 2013
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Darrell Ward officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation 2pm Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Hazel was born in Gideon, Missouri on August 11, 1924, the daughter of General Grant Miller and Dora Walker. She married Charles E. Adkins on April 24, 1943 and he preceded her in death on September 3, 1964. She was a homemaker and a mother.
Surviving are daughter, Shirley (Norm) Montpas of Fenton;
son, Charles (Pamela) Adkins of Burton;
daughter, Cindy (Frank) Cherveny of Flushing;
grandchildren, Sarah Montpas-Ulishney, Kimberly (Jason) St. Marie, Heather (Aaron) Hamann, Frank Jason (Tricia) Cherveny and Joshua (Heather) Cherveny;
8 great-grandchildren.
Hazel is also survived by special cousins, the Walker Family.
She was also preceded in death by husband, granddaughter, Shawna Cherveny, brother, James “Bob” Miller and grandson-in-law, Jim Ulishney.
The family would like to thank the staff at Grand Blanc Rehab & Nursing Home for their loving care and support.
