ASHLEY, Michael – of Sanford, MI formerly of Burton, age 63, died Saturday, June 25, 2016 at McLaren of Flint. Visitation will be at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 1-8 PM. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family or the charity of one’s choice.
Michael was born August 20, 1952 in Elkin, NC to the late Willie and Mattie Gaye (Weatherman) Ashley. He resided in Sanford the past 15 years coming from Burton. Mr. Ashley retired from Flint Assembly with 31 years seniority. He was a member of the UAW Local #598 and served as a committeeman for many years. He enjoyed his horses, old cars and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are: Children: Kevin (Paula) Ashley of Clio, Jamie Dycus of Flint, Chris Ashley of Clio, Katelyn Ashley of Sanford; Grandchildren: Caelyn Ashley and Cameron Ashley; Brothers: Gary (Judy) Ashley of Burton, Larry (Angela) Ashley of NC, Randy (Joye) Ashley of Burton, Donald Ashley of Burton; Sister: Sharon (Homer) Swank of Swartz Creek; many nieces, nephews and countless friends.
