VINCENT, Thurston “Hap”- of Flint, age 78, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 at Genesys Hospice Care Center - Goodrich. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, Rev. Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 11-3 and 5-8 PM. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesys Hospice Care Center.
Hap was born in Flint, MI on September 23, 1934, son of the late Thurston N. and Myrtle (Arnold) Vincent. Hap married Betty Jane Christle on March 29, 1953. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Hap retired in 1986 after 32 years of service as a diesel mechanic and welder at ACI/Complete Auto Transit.
Hap is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty; children, Tom (Mary) Vincent, Tim (Debbie) Vincent; grandchild, Kenny Woods; great-grandchild, Derek Woods; siblings, Burt, Larry and Susan Durance; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Arlie, Earl and Ray Vincent; sister, Martha Dodd; grandson, Jerry Woods.
