TILLEY, James Leo - Age 85, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, August 16, 2019. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Rev. Sarah LaRose Nettell officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 2-8 PM and Tuesday from 1 PM until the time of the service.
James was born February 7, 1934 in Frederick, IL, the son of James Leo and Elva J. (Perry) Tilley. He married Norma Lee Williams April 16, 1955 in Flint. He had resided in Swartz Creek for the past 3 years coming from Grand Blanc. James had been employed at Warwick Hills Golf Club as the Assistant Greens Keeper and then work for Flint Golf Club for 32 years as the Green Superintendent. He was a member of the Golf Course Association, life member of the Swartz Creek V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #3720, and was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Tawas.
Surviving are: his wife, Norma; daughter, Vicky Wagner (Jim Teffner) of Flint and Debbie Tilley of Swartz Creek; grandchildren, Jacob (Mindy) Wagner of Swartz Creek and Joseph Wagner (Carrie Burns) of Swartz Creek; great grandchildren, Jacob Jr., Lauren, and Grace; sister, Pat (Hayward) Hand of Missouri; special nephew, Zeb English; and several other, nieces, nephews, and friends.
