Lawrence J. Coughlin, born on July 7, 1932 and passed over on April 6, 2020. He was a good earthly father, a good earthly husband to his beloved Reba Lou Cleary. She gave birth to two "chillins", a girl, Karen, and a boy, Kerwin. He was preceded in death by his bride of over 50 years. She was born on April 27, 1932 and passed over on October 19, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Karen, who passed over on October 29, 2015. Only Kerwin of the immediate family of four remains on Earth to cherish many memories. It's weird...look it up in the oxford. Lawrence began his physical journey as part of a large Flint family consisting of parents: John Wesley Coughlin (Earthly Father), and Mabel Foutch, mother of seven chillins: Ann, Twin boys Larry and Gerald, Max, Bette, Rosemary and Carol. Larry was a great baseball player while in the Army during the Korean War, stationed at Fort Monmouth, NJ. He once hit 7 homeruns in a row during batting practice, catching the eye of a Cleveland Indians scout. The scout gave him his business card, but Larry just said, "There are several guys better than me on this team", so it went no further. He could really pitch too. I mean, really good! An avid fisherman, hunter and all around sportsman. That was/is my dad. Larry was preceded in passing by his mother, Mabel, Father John, sisters Ann and Carol, and his twin brother, Jerry. Also, his pet crow, Buddy, and his pet squirrel, Scalawag. This man that I call Dad will be missed every single day of the years to come. See ya again one day Buddy. Thanks to the good people at McLaren Hospice and Hill Funeral Home for their great service. God Bless Everyone! P.S. Many nieces and nephews and cousins all miss this man. He is a Hoot! |
