SCHMIDT, Lillie Belle. (Luark) – of Montrose, age 86, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Thursday, May 10, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 6PM Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor Dan Pugh officiating. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 3PM until 6PM.
Lillie was born April 10, 1932, daughter of the late Floyd and Ida (Rice) Luark. She was the eldest of her siblings: Mary Schmidt (Luark), Theodore (Deloris) Luark, and Gretchen Saunders (Luark). Lillie married her childhood sweetheart, Richard Schmidt. He preceded her in death. Together they raised 4 children: Yvonne (Harold) Miller, Sabrina (Linden) Moore, Richard (Melinda) Schmidt, Renatta (David) Szukhent. Her family was her pride and joy, including her 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
As a young woman, you could find Lillie in her flower gardens, helping neighbors and families with anything they might need, sewing a beautiful outfit for someone, or taking lots and lots of pictures. True to her giving nature, she spent many years donating time at the Montrose Eagles and was also honored to be Madam President
Lillie was also preceded in death by her: sister, JoAnn Barbee (Luark); Brother, John Luark; Daughter, Yvonne Miller; Son in law, Harold Miller. Please sign our guestbook or share an online condolence with the family at www.oguinnfh.com.
