ROWLAND, Evelyn - age 95, of Fenton, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Tuesday, June 23, 2020. Evelyn was born November 28, 1924 in Clio, the daughter of Horace and Amy (Hewett) Bortle. Evelyn was beloved by all her neighbors in the Fenton community and was an avid philanthropist who made many contributions to local and national charities. She is survived by: her sister Donna Hull; her granddaughters, Antonia Christy and Julie Gelderblom-Calvey; great grandson, Maxamillian Taylor; stepsons, Jay Rowland and James Rowland; step-grandchildren, Jay Jr, Christy, Sarah, Christopher, and Chelsey; step-great grandchildren, Alex, Elijah, Christian, Archer, Zoe, and Trinity. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Calvey and Wilber Rowland; sons, Michael Calvey and Patrick Calvey; brothers, Elwin Bortle and Donald Bortle. Her family extends a special thank you to her wonderful caregivers, Janet Miller, Melani Loria, Mariah Running, and Michelle Stephensonas.
