ROGERS, Jimmie - Of Grand Blanc, age 75, died Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 12 pm Monday, September 15, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Reverend Paul Holland officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation 6-8pm Saturday and 1-8pm Sunday and 11am Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Jimmie was born in Red Onion, Arkansas on December 3, 1938 the son of the late Sterling and Minnie (Lucas) Rogers. On October 22, 1955, he married Roberta M. Walker in Flint. He worked at Flint Metal Fab for 40 years. He loved fishing and woodworking.
Surviving are wife, Roberta M. of 59 years;
son, James (Vickie) Rogers;
daughter, Kim (Doug) Warren;
son, Jerry and daughter Keri (Joe) Taverna;
grandchildren, Bobbi (Eric), Amy (Lance), Kevin (Stacey), Kurt (Riva), Jerry (Danielle), Jenny, Emily, Joey and Matthew;
16 great-grandchildren;
brother, Michael (Nina) Whittington, sister, Mary (Charles) Perkins;
He is also survived by in-laws, Kathryn, Gloria and Fred, Pat and Ed, Sue and special brother-in-law, Steve, Bill and Darlene, Tom and Lori, Bonnie and Tom.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, mother and father-in-law, Ethel and James Reece, sister, Virginia Harvey, brother, Jerry Rogers, great grandson, Carter, and brother-in-law, Bob.
