JERNIGAN, Charles J. – Of Flint, age 46, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church 2143 South Center Road, Burton, Father Angelo Maggos officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church or to the family, for a trust fund for Charles son, Charlie. Visitation 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Parastas Service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Charles will be at the church from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service. Charles was born in Flint, Michigan on March 12, 1965, the son of Dennis and Sharon (Sheets) Jernigan. Surviving are son, Charlie; parents, Dennis and Sharon Jernigan of Flushing; brother, David (Melinda) Jernigan of Clio; grandmother, Leota Owen of Yuma, Arizona; aunts and uncles, Carey Jernigan of Ann Arbor, JoAnne Reid of Flushing, Michael and wife Karen Sheets of Flushing, Daniel and wife JoAnne Sheets of Yuma, Arizona; several cousins and a host of special friends.
