HAMLIN, Catherine Mary. – of Clio, age 83, mother of 11 children, died Thursday, October 6, 2016 at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Catherine at 10AM Monday, October 10, 2016 at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church - 230 E. Vienna St. in Clio. Rev. Fr. Ken Coughlin officiating. Burial at St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Owosso. Family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Saturday from 5PM until 8PM, Sunday from 12PM until 9PM and at the church on Monday from 9AM until the time of mass at 10AM. A Rosary will be prayed 7PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Contributions in her honor may be made to Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church.
Catherine was born November 29, 1932 in Oakley, Michigan to the late Roy and Agnes (Corrin) Kettler. She married Philip E. Hamlin on August 22, 1953 in Oakley. He preceded her in death on October 1, 2009. Catherine was formerly employed with the office of Peet Packing Co. of Chesaning for 5 years before becoming a mother and homemaker. She was a member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church. Catherine enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, squirrels and turkeys. She also enjoyed crafts and cooking. Above all, Catherine loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are: Children: Kay (Gary) Jones, Michael (Kay) Hamlin, Joseph (Carol) Hamlin, Phyllis (David) Paulik, Theresa (James) Mead, Sharon (Benjamin) McGuire, Debra (Robert) Coffey, Susan (Brian) Roy, Bernadette (Joseph) Vallaire, Christopher (Ann) Hamlin, and Nancy (James) Wandrie; 33 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren with 2 on the way; Brother, William (Edith) Kettler.
