Bertie S. Rosencrantz of Flushing, age 95, died Friday, July 5, 2013, at his home. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013, at Rossell Funeral Home. Rev. Kenneth Sharp will officiate. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Sunday and from Noon until time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Rosencrantz was born in Weston, Ohio on January 7, 1918, the son of Clarence and Golda (Fairbanks) Rosencrantz. He married Betty L. Novess in Flushing on June 10, 1951. He was a GM retiree. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a life member of the Flushing V.F.W. He was also a member of the Goodwill Auxiliary.
Bertie is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Betty; four children, Dean and wife Susan Rosencrantz of Seattle, WA, Brian and wife Linda Rosencrantz of West Palm Beach, FL; Merilee and husband Gordon Huffman of La Crosse, WI, Craig and wife Michelle Rosencrantz of Flushing; 11 grandchildren, Stephen and wife Erin Rosencrantz, Matthew Rosencrantz, Sarah, Naomi, and Abigail Huffman, David and wife Brandy Huffman, Jeremy and Elizabeth Rosencrantz, Jason Rosencrantz and fiancée Stefanie, Autumn, Summer, and Madison Rosencrantz; five great-grandchildren; brother, Lyle and wife Bernice Rosencrantz of Flushing; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bennie, Floyd and Clifford Rosencrantz. |
