JACOBS, Esther Bell – of Lapeer, age 85 passed away at The Oaks at Woodfield in Grand Blanc, Michigan on September 13, 2016. A private burial has taken place in Stiles Cemetery, Mayfield Township, as per her wishes. Esther was born on September 16, 1930 in Lapeer, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Anna (McGaw) Rose. On February 17, 1951, she married Samuel Jacobs. They raised their family in Flint and Lapeer. Some of Esther’s fondest memories were camping with her children, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and traveling to Florida for the winter months. She retired from the Flint Community Schools in 1985 and she and Sam were active members of The Peoples Baptist Church for many years. Esther is survived by her children, Carolyn (David) Hritz, Patti (Gregory) Davis, Marie Reuther (Al), Janet Hendrick, Sandra (David) Goss, Kelley Jo (Scott) Blondin, William Reuther and Ron Hendrick; grandchildren, Amy (Brian) Harvey, Kim (Robert) Hathaway, Carie (Chris) Duplanty, Brian (Chrissy) Reuther, Erin (Bobby) Lessner, Koree (Eric) Woodward, Jacob (Kristin) Wilson, Carly (Matt) Comparoni, Josh (Lauren) Hendrick, Holly Blondin and Abbey Blondin; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Lillian Hathaway, Nicholas and Samantha Harvey, David and Beau Hritz, Kayla, Morgan and Andrew Duplanty, Emma, Maya and Wyatt Samuel Reuther, Olivia Truxal, Anna Marie Lessner, Mason and Mia Comparoni, Liam Woodward and Audrey Wilson; brother, Olaf (Madeline) Rose, brother-in-law Albert (Charlotte) Jacobs; special nieces and nephews, Ann (Kurt) Helzer, Jacob and Olivia Helzer; Charles Russell; beloved pet Tiny Jacobs and many more friends and relatives. She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Jacobs, brother, Clare Rose, sister, Gladene Green, grandson, David Hritz, sister-in-law, Lydia Russell and in-laws, Yull and Almas (Thomas) Jacobs.
