Odette, Norma of Flint, age 96, died Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at her home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2015, at Rossell Funeral Home. Chaplin Jim Salo will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Norma was born in Flint, Michigan on October 1, 1918, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Lozelle) Evans. She married Owen Odette, Jr. in Flint on February 22, 1941. Along with her husband, they enjoyed spending summers on Lake Charlevoix and dancing with the Club Clarenden Dance Club. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1988. She was a member of Community Presbyterian Church. Norma also enjoyed knitting and golfing. She was caring and always willing to help others and will be remembered as a devoted wife and the best mother.
Norma is survived by her sons, Charles and wife Kim Odette of New York City, Greg and wife Deborah Odette of Flushing; very special twin sister, Thora Hubner of Flint; sister, Rebecca and husband Dallas Link of Flushing; numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Bernadene Noe.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers, Teresa, Carol, Sheryl, Cathy, Shirley, Nadene, Darlene and Frieda for all of their loving and caring ways. |
