David Mathias Berry, Age 73, of Durand, passed away on December 1, 2024. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on David’s tribute wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.
A memorial service will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery, in Holly, Michigan on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 2:30 pm, open to all.
David Mathias Berry was born on August 13, 1951, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. David and Mary (Urban) Berry. David married the love of his life Suzanne O’Dell in Las Vegas, NV on April 28, 1995. He served his country as a combat vet in the USMC during the Vietnam War. He was a 5th Degree Master in Tang Soo Do and ran several schools during his lifetime. He loved fishing, hunting, camping and just being in the great outdoors. He was a self-taught guitarist and had written many songs. He was a loving father. He was a doting cat daddy and dog daddy. David was a friend to everyone that he met.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife; Suzanne Berry; children, Kimberly Parks, Davina (Marnie) Gray; Leanna (Aaron) Maxwell, Sarah (Brandon) Kelley, Daniel (Jenna) Berry, Sabrina Berry; sister Mary (John) Kleynenberg, brother Robin (Rhonda) Berry, brother Tony (Bonita) Berry, brother Mickey (Pam) Berry; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in passing by his parents, sister Leona (Howard) Pickford, sister Dottie (Bernie) Timm, brother Leland Berry.
