PETERS, Dorothea A. “Dottie” – of Clio, age 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Gross Assisted Living in Clio. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Monday, February 24, 2020 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Sue Trinklein officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 1PM until 7PM and Monday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. A Eastern Star memorial will be held at 5PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Masonic Pathways Senior Living – for a new media center.
Dottie was born May 9, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late William and Arvilla (Hill) Ringler. She graduated from Clio High School in 1941. Dottie also trained with the Hurley School of Nursing and was a Cadet Nurse in the U.S. Army during WWII. She married Stanley H. Peters on February 14, 1946 in Clio. He preceded her in death July 8, 1994. Dottie attended Bethany United Methodist Church in Clio, during her time at Gross Assisted Living, Pastor Sue Trinklein would offer fellowship and ministry. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star – Vienna Chapter #283, with 75 years of service, Clio VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #1452, TOPS, KOPS, The Red Hat Society, and volunteered with the American Red Cross. Dottie enjoyed the art of decorating with stained glass, and decoupage, quilting, cake decorating, and bird watching.
Surviving are: Children: Kathryn (Gary) Domerese, Susan (Thomas) Rollo, and Patricia Colomina; Granddaughters: Tamara (Jeffrey) Kirn, and Courtney (Ryan) Schnettler; Grandson, Michael (Jacklyn) Domerese; Great grandsons: Mason and Rylan Kirn; Siblings: Kay Shoens, Dorothy Sundeen; Several nieces and nephews.
