WERSEL, Rose Marie – of Flint, age 79, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2012 at Genesys Hospice Care Center-Goodrich. A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, February 23 2012 at East Flint Church of the Nazarene 3515 N. Belsay Rd., Flint; Pastor Ron Comfort officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Bay City. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. On Thursday, visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East Flint Church of the Nazarene for the Music Dept. and Faith Pledge Fund.
Rose was born in Flint, MI on March 23, 1932 daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Thompson) Thick. She married Albert Wersel July 21, 1970 and he preceded her in death 2004. Rose was a longtime member of East Flint Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed having her daily “coffee hour” and reading to her friends.
Rose is survived by son, Mark (Kellie) Wersel; daughters, Alberta Zimmer, Georganna (Jerry) Cooksy, Rose (Melvin) Pettey; son-in-law, Edward Willetts; 26 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughters, Judy Briggs and Shirley Willetts; sons-in-law, Harry Zimmer and George Briggs; brother, Charles Thick; sister, Maude Hallenback.
